Quanto vale a sua religião?

   “Se alguém entre vós cuida ser religioso, e não refreia a sua língua, antes engana o seu coração, e a sua religião é vã. A religião pura e imaculada para com Deus, o Pai, é esta: visitar os órfãos e as viúvas nas suas tribulações, e guardar-se da corrupção do mundo” (Tiago 1;26e27).
 
       É possível que Tiago tivesse em sua mente a maneira religiosa com que os escribas e fariseus viviam, uma vez que o Senhor Jesus muitas vezes Se insurgiu, contra eles, pois eles amavam ser chamados de mestres ou rabis, e quando nas esquinas das praças, punham-se em pé, com as mãos erguidas para o céu, faziam largas orações para serem glorificados pelos homens. Em outras ocasiões visitavam as viúvas, usando os mesmos métodos; porém a sua intenção era de apropriar-se dos bens delas. Quanto valia essa religião? Tiago diz que ela era vã e que Deus a abomina. O mundo nosso está cheio de religiosos desta ou de outra marca. Mas que é religião? Segundo alguém definiu, ela nasceu de uma palavra latina, “religare”, que quer dizer religar o que foi rompido ou desligado. Quando Deus criou o homem, este estava em plena comunhão com Ele. Mas pela desobediência ele foi desligado Dele.
         A religião verdadeira é vida do homem com Deus. Diante disto conclui-se que os escribas e fariseus não tinham essa vida, como muitos ainda em nossos dias. A mensagem de João Batista era que, quem tivesse mantimento ou vestimenta, repartisse com os que não tinham (Lc 3; 7 a 20). Então o valor da religião está no fato de proporcionar vida ao homem; comunhão íntima e perfeita com Deus, fugindo cada vez mais da prática do pecado. Será que isto pode ser encontrado na pessoa dos religiosos, especialmente dos que ostentam cara comprida ou ar de piedade? Não devemos confundir religião com seita. A religião verdadeira produz vida naqueles que ouvem as palavras do pregador, levando-o à conversão a Deus. Enquanto que a ceita, nada disto proporciona. Aliás, esta é a função da religião. Quanto cobram certas denominações religiosas dos seus fiéis? Começam pedindo mil reais; depois vão diminuindo até chegar aos dez reais. Isto está dentro das palavras do apóstolo Paulo que diz que “Estão mercadejando a palavra de Deus”. O Senhor Jesus disse certa vez, em João 5;39:
 

    “Examinais as Escrituras, porque vós cuidais ter nelas a vida eterna, e são elas que de mim testificam. E não quereis vir a Mim para terdes a vida eterna”.


         A missão do pregador que prega a verdade é levar o homem a Deus, ensinando-lhe a verdade sobre a salvação, que é a mensagem das escrituras sagradas. Você meu querido mensageiro da palavra, como se dirige aos seus ouvintes, está transmitindo-lhes a vida? Aquele que o ouve, chega a experimentar uma nova vida? O seu coração é aquecido com a palavra de Deus? Se você é membro de uma igreja, percebe que está havendo transformações, como por exemplo, o bêbado é transformado, ou abandona o vicio do álcool? O ladrão deixa de roubar ou continua roubando? O adúltero abandona a prática da imoralidade? O mentiroso passa a ser honesto em suas palavras? O jovem fornicário abandona a prostituição? O trapaceiro abandona esse tipo de vida, ou continua nela? O criminoso continua no crime? Se as respostas forem negativas, você vai desculpar a minha franqueza em lhe dizer, que este tipo de religião não é de Deus; por isso lhe digo que ela não vale nada; não vale um centavo. Mas se tudo isto é positivo em sua vida dou-lhe os meus parabéns! A sua religião é boa e verdadeira.
         Caso contrário recomendo-lhe o evangelho de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, pois só Ele pode fazer as mudanças, uma vez que Ele mesmo disse:
 

    “Conhecereis a verdade e a verdade vos libertará... Se pois o Filho vos libertar, verdadeiramente sereis livres” ( João 8;32e36).


        Quem possui a verdadeira religião, esse está salvo, liberto de todo o pecado. Porém se não está salvo não é liberto, mas é escravo do pecado; uma vez que o apóstolo Paulo diz:
 

    “E se alguém está em Cristo, nova criatura é; as coisas velhas já passaram; e eis que tudo se fez novo” (II Cor 5;17).


        Então prezado ouvinte, quanto vale a sua religião? Você estando nela, não tem a certeza da vida eterna? Se morrer nela para onde irá, para o céu ou para o inferno? Se você não sabe, então é melhor abandonar esse tipo de religião, pois em Cristo só existem certezas e não dúvidas. Concluindo, abandone essa religião que na verdade não é a que Cristo ensinou; mas faça isso hoje mesmo; ou melhor, dizendo, agora mesmo, neste instante e passe a sentir o gosto, o prazer de uma vida com Jesus. Que Deus seja louvado por isso, e o abençoe.
