Essas notícias comprovam a atualidade das afirmações bíblicas! Como é possível que alguém, há dois mil anos atrás, distante de todas as possibilidades tecnológicas de hoje, tenha descrito tais desenvolvimentos? Em Apocalipse 13 são relatados acontecimentos que se dariam apenas nos tempos finais, pouco antes da volta de Jesus. O idoso apóstolo João, que vivia exilado na ilha de Patmos, escreveu que, no fim dos tempos, as pessoas iriam receber uma marca em sua mão direita ou em sua fronte, e que poderiam comprar ou vender apenas com ela. Além disso, ele fala de uma imagem que teria fôlego e falaria (Ap 13.15). Como ele podia ter a certeza e a "ousadia" de escrever algo assim? Naquela época, suas afirmações estavam bem longe da realidade. Além disso, o que significavam suas palavras? Que valor tinham essas descrições minuciosas de algo que ninguém conhecia? Será que João não temia cair no ridículo ou não havia o perigo da Bíblia ser posta de lado por ser considerada uma coleção de fábulas? Qualquer "ser pensante" – caso a Bíblia fosse um "conto de fadas" – teria evitado fazer afirmações desse teor, preferindo escrever coisas mais genéricas, pensamentos filosóficos ou literatura poética. Mas João estava absolutamente convicto de que tudo o que viu e escreveu correspondia integralmente à verdade.
A Bíblia não é, de forma alguma, um livro de contos. Ela é a revelação divina à humanidade. Só um Deus que conhece os mínimos detalhes do futuro e dos processos históricos pode mandar escrever fatos futuros através da inspiração de Seu Espírito. Somente Deus sabia de antemão que aproximadamente mil e novecentos anos mais tarde um aparelho iria influenciar o mundo através de uma imagem que fala e se move. Somente um Ser Supremo poderia saber que dois mil anos depois seria possível implantar um chip sob a pele. Apenas Ele poderia mandar predizer que essas coisas incomparáveis iriam acontecer. Somente um Deus que é a Verdade poderia anunciar algo tão "inacreditável" para provar que Sua Palavra é verdadeira e que podemos crer em tudo o que Ele diz. O Senhor Jesus expressou essa verdade ao dizer:
"Desde já vos digo, antes que aconteça, para que, quando acontecer, creiais que EU SOU" (Jo 13.19).
A última fase do fim dos tempos teve início com o ajuntamento dos judeus em sua pátria e com a fundação do Estado de Israel em 1948. Praticamente em paralelo, os processos em desenvolvimento no nosso mundo se direcionam em ritmo cada vez mais acelerado para o cumprimento do Apocalipse.
"Quem não se deixa vencer pela verdade divina será vencido pelo engano", disse Agostinho. Não resta muito tempo para ridicularizar a Bíblia, pois a seriedade de suas palavras é muito evidente!
