Quando o salão do prédio onde a igreja se reúne foi construído foram usados centenas de tijolos. Um em cima do outro. Sem estes tijolos não teríamos este salão. Podemos até dizer que o tijolo é a matéria prima da construção numa edificação como esta. Mas, para levantar estas parede, só é preciso de tijolos? Pode imaginar dezenas de tijolos um em cima do outro.
O que mais é preciso? Cimento. Pode imaginar estas paredes aqui, um tijolo em cima do outro, centenas de tijolos ao seu redor, mas sem cimento? Ou com cimento de má qualidade?

Nós somos os tijolos que Jesus usa para construir sua igreja. A palavra até nos chama de “pedras”. 1 Pedro 2:5 diz “também vós mesmos, como pedras que vivem, sois edificados casa espiritual… ” Cada um de nós somos a matéria prima da edificação da Igreja de Jesus. Mas, há um material fundamental que nos mantém juntos – o amor. Este amor é o que? É a paciência, a consideração, a confiança um no outro. Sem o cimento do amor, todas estas pedras um dia caem. Basta o inimigo bater um pouco na parede que ela cede. Ele bate um pouco mais e ela cai para o chão.

Na verdade, o cimento que liga dois tijolos aqui em baixo na parede, é tão importante quanto o cimento e os tijolos ligados ali em cima. De fato, todos os tijolos desta parede estão de certa forma em contato com todos os outros. Todos dependem, uns dos outros – como nós dependemos uns dos outros.

Quando nós começamos a brigar, a discutir, a medir ou até retirar nosso amor uns dos outros, o que é que acontece? A parede começa a ceder. Alguns tijolos começam a cair. Basta uma rachadura aqui, e outro ali, e outro ali, e em pouco tempo, a casa toda cai. Por outro lado, basta que o cimento que segura os tijolos seja bem feito, bem forte, e todos ficam juntos. Podem resistir qualquer investida do inimigo.

Você não tem que segurar todos os irmãos na igreja. Você não tem que visitar todos.
Mas, você tem que amar pessoalmente aqueles que Deus colocou próximo de você.
Tem que tratar todos com a mesma consideração. Tem que amar igualmente todos.
Mas, haverão alguns, bem próximos de você que você terá que ter um amor muito forte para eles.

Elas podem ser próximos porque são da sua casa, ou do seu pequeno grupo, ou da sua área de serviço na igreja. Ou, pode ser que é com eles que você se acha em constante atrito. Seja qual for o motivo, são os tijolos que Jesus, o grande construtor desta casa, colocou próximo de você. Ame eles, com o mesmo amor que você ama a Jesus. E, a igreja dEle ficará bem forte para sempre. Quando falamos uns com os outros, vamos falar como quem está falando com o próprio Senhor Jesus.
